spectacled Notes is for the things that don’t need a date attached – quick thoughts, reference material, drafts, lists that aren’t tasks. Like Journals, it’s built on VJOURNAL, so a “note” and a “journal entry” are the same underlying data — the difference is how each app presents and organizes them for the way you actually use them.
What you can do
Write without a rigid structure – headings, checklists, or a wall of text, whatever the note needs. Organize notes the way that fits your workflow. Sync across Android, iOS, desktop, and web through your own CalDAV server. Open the same notes in any other app or client that understands VJOURNAL – you’re never stuck with just spectacled.
Where your data lives
Every note is stored as a standard iCalendar VJOURNAL entry on the CalDAV server you choose. There’s no spectacled cloud, no proprietary export format to fight with later, and no ads or profiling – your notes are just… your notes.
