Free or paid – it’s the same app
The store versions and the free open-source builds of Spectacled are identical: same features, same code, no ads, no tracking, nothing locked behind a paid tier. The only difference is whether you pay for it.
Behind that app is an ambitious developer maintaining one codebase across Android, iOS, Web, and Desktop. It is ongoing work that the store purchases help pay for, while the free builds make sure nobody is priced out. If you use a free version and Spectacled has earned a place in your day, please consider buying it in a store anyway or donating – any amount keeps development going.
