spectacled Tasks is built around VTODO, the iCalendar component designed for to-do items — with due dates, priorities, and completion status baked into the standard rather than invented by spectacled. That means your task list is portable by default: any CalDAV/iCalendar-aware client can read it.
What you can do
Create tasks with due dates, priorities, and notes. Track progress and mark items complete, with full history kept on your server. Organize tasks into lists/collections for different areas of your life or work. Sync the same list across Android, iOS, desktop, and web – add a task on your phone, check it off on your laptop.
Where your data lives
Your tasks live on the CalDAV server you connect – self-hosted or a trusted provider. Because VTODO is a widely supported standard, your task list also stays visible to other CalDAV clients you might already use for calendaring, so Tasks slots into an existing setup instead of replacing it.
